Meetings are generally held monthly
Membership is open to all registered nurses who live or work in the Anne Arundel County area. Our district operates using a committee structure. All meetings are open to our full membership.
An educational needs assessment was conducted of the membership in order to assist the Steering Committee with planning for the upcoming year. The District uses an active email list to communicate frequently with members between meetings. Plans for the upcoming year include: ? The District will host a table at the upcoming MNA conference ? Providing CE approved educational offerings ? Supporting 2008 Nurses Legislative Day in Annapolis
District 3 Opportunities
Some specific areas where we would like to get a GROUP of folks to work together include....
Meeting Planning: Valerie Restifo has offered to head this up but needs more folks to provide ideas for speakers, decide about CEU's, explore joint presentations with other districts, etc. If you would be interested in assisting with this aspect of the work of the district please contact Val at vrestifo@annapolis.net
Welcomers: Charlene Passmore has offered to help contact new members, be sure they know when the meetings are and encourage them to join with us. Could you help too? This is something that will not take much time but will be a tremendous service to the district and to new members. Please contact Charlene
E-mail and Communications: We need help keeping our e-mail list current (adding new members, changing addresses when needed, removing discontinued members, etc.) This is vital to maintaining our communications both within District 3 and between our members and MNA and ANA as news bulletins are sent or other time-sensitive messages go out. Would you be interested in helping? Please contact Elise Handelman at eastportelise@comcast.net
Short-term activities: There are also loads of other short-term projects that need "willing hands". These can include helping to get the flyers for the meetings out, attending MNA meetings to represent District 3, or helping with our new web site (to be launched in December). If you could contribute a small amount of time on a one time only (or more if you like) basis, please email Elise Handelman at eastportelise@comcast.net
If you are willing and able to help, have ideas about what you think you could bring to the workings of the group, or see something on this list that interests you, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I will put you in contact with one of the folks here who can get you started and, hopefully, keep you involved. Thank you Elise Handelman.
