District #1 Maryland Nurses Association

Our community has a rich nursing history. District #1 of the Maryland Nurses Association (MNA) is proud to represent nurses living and working in Allegany and Garrett Counties. Tucked away in the mountains of western Maryland our members represent a wide variety of professional nurses.

The officers and board of directors welcomes all nurses to join us in celebration and preservation of our profession. We come together in this organization striving to elevate and enhance nursing practice. Our goal over the next year is to reorganize and reenergize this professional organization. District #1's calendar of events will have several opportunities for networking, learning, and professional growth. Annually we gather during nurse?s week to honor each other at a spring dinner. At that time the nurse of the year recipient is announced. District #1 sponsors a scholarship that is awarded by Allegany Community College. Three other times during the year we congregate for continuing education opportunities and dinner meetings. This year's calendar will have additional fun events. Again, all nurses are welcome and when you attend an event bring a friend!
