Legislative Committee
Legislation, Policy, Regulation
A major focus of the Maryland Nurses Association (MNA) is the advocacy duty that nurses have for patients, and the laws and regulations that affect patient care and nursing. The Legislative Committee develops MNA’s annual legislative platform for Board approval and monitors or takes a position on bills that are congruent with the focus of the platform. This very active committee, made up of confirmed MNA members and a representative from participating MNA Affiliate Organizations, follows issues that come before the Maryland General Assembly, U.S. Congress and other regulatory bodies.
If you have suggestions or are interested in volunteering to work with the Legislative Committee, you may contact Becky Colt-Ferguson, Chair.
